NBOP's Police Accountability Task Force Organizes Art Action on National Day to End Police Brutality

SAY HIS NAME! ANDY LOPEZ! SAY HIS NAME! DAVID PELAEZ CHAVEZ!

Thank you to the 70+ people who rallied with us on a national day of action to stop police brutality and renew our calls for accountability! Students, faith leaders, and local victims of police brutality posted 97 names of people who have died in police custody since 2000 onto the windows outside the chambers of Sonoma County Board of Supervisors.

“It seems to be endless in our communities what we have going on with the police. I don’t know how it’s going to end... we pushed for Measure P, everybody came out, it was signed and approved but there is still no accountability.” –Jason Anglero-Wyrick in a personal testimony at our rally

In April 2020, Jason was severely bitten by a Sonoma County sheriff’s K-9 during an April 2020 encounter with deputies in Graton.

NBOP’s The Police Accountability Task Force will continue to fight for enforcement of Measure P as the voters intended.
