“…But if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together.”

– Lilla Watson

Beloved Community,

At NBOP our coalition is our strength. You are our power! You were with us all year ensuring our impact and scaling solutions. In 2022-23 we amplified the voices of tenants for national audiences, developing nationwide policy on housing and climate change. We led state-wide organizing in co-founding the California UndocuFund Network and advanced a novel regional promotora co-op. We formed a leadership team for the first Latinx and Indigenous farmworker-led agrarian trust in Sonoma County and more youth than ever trained in our two-week summer program, Academia del Pueblo. There are victories that words cannot do justice: waves of mobile home park residents across the county standing up and fighting to stay in their homes and parents demanding language justice in schools.

In a future driven by climate catastrophe, there will not be less organizing. There will need to be more effective, disciplined organizing. NBOP is a democratic collective of determined leaders on the frontlines of this future. I am honored to steward a courageous mission of twenty member organizations, UndocuFund, and the Sonoma County Tenants Union. Thank you for seeing that your liberation is bound up with ours and investing in a bold vision for justice in 2024.
